Costs and charges for tenants

At Oakhill we want to make sure you’re always fully informed. In particular, it’s important that there are no grey areas about who pays for what. Here’s a checklist of the charges that you, the tenant, should budget for.

Before your tenancy begins

As well as paying for your rent, you’ll also have to pay:

+ Your deposit (usually equivalent to six weeks’ rent)

+ A Tenancy Agreement fee (£210 plus VAT)

+ A Reference fee, £40 plus VAT per person or £60 plus VAT per company

+ An Inventory Check In fee (typically around £130 plus VAT. The landlord pays for the Inventory Check Out.)

Preliminary Deposit

Oakhill Residential require a preliminary deposit from you which will be made once your offer has been accepted. This will be put towards your first months’ rent and will only be refunded if for any reason our client elects not to proceed.
